What are Coil Tarps?

Coil Tarps are cylindrical flatbed tarps specifically built to protect cylindrically-shaped cargo loads from harsh environmental conditions on the road. As the name states, these tarps were designed with hauling steel coils in mind.

We offer Domestic Steel Coil Tarps and Import Steel Coil Tarps in 18 oz. and 22 oz. vinyl. There are currently 3 sizes of coil tarps that we offer:

    • 5 ft. x 5 ft. x 5 ft. Coil Tarp

    • 6 ft. x 6 ft. x 6 ft. Coil Tarp

    • 7 ft. x 7 ft. x 7 ft. Coil Tarp

These tarps are uniquely shaped for a complete fit around steel coils to save you time when tarping. Haulers can often save upwards of 45 minutes daily when using these steel coil tarps over a traditional 4 foot drop steel tarp.

What makes a Coil Tarp?

There are several key components to these tarps, which we define as:

Heavy Duty PVC Coating

Our coil tarps are made from pure 18 oz. and 22 oz. vinyl to prevent the tarp from fraying over time. This material is guaranteed to keep your load safe and dry through harsh weather conditions on the road.

Fitted Cylindrical Shape

Our coil tarps are sewn for a complete fit around steel coils. These tarps can be placed directly over a steel coil without having to be tied to the coil itself. We also build separated corners into each tarp for easy everyday use.

Dee-Bands and Dee-Rings

Our Domestic Coil Tarps feature a single row of Dee-Rings sewn onto the tarp. Our Import Coil Tarps feature two rows of Dee-Rings sewn onto the tarp.

Grommets

Rust-resistant brass grommets are placed every 2 inches to allow haulers to secure the tarp with rubber bungees to the flatbed.

Why choose a Coil Tarp?

The benefit to choosing a coil tarp is that you will have a tarp dedicated specifically to hauling cylindrical objects. Coil tarps conveniently fit the shape of steel coil and do not need to be folded or tied down in weird ways to fit the shape of your cargo.

The cylindrical shape of the coil tarp keeps your load more protected from external elements and allows you to better secure your cargo to the trailer bed. Additionally, you will save time while tarping, which will allow for the tarp to pay for itself within a matter of weeks. Simply put, it has a great return on investment.

This style of tarp is mainly used to haul coiled steel. If you are looking for a steel tarp to haul uncoiled steel in stacks, click here for steel tarps.
